Mike’s career in the investment management industry has spanned over 36 years, nearly 22 of which were at Eaton Vance Management in Boston, MA where he served as global equity portfolio manager and Director of Equity Strategy Implementation until he retired at the end of 2021.

 

While at Eaton Vance, Mike was a senior member of a team that built a $15bn equity option income franchise, as well as the industry-leading $40bn exchange fund franchise (as of his retirement on December 31, 2021).

 

In 2023, Mike founded New Lantern Capital, LLC and launched a strategy intended to provide a tax-efficient, equity-based alternative to bonds.

 

In 2024, Mike joined Investment Research Partners, LLC as Strategist and Portfolio Manager, and he continues to manage his New Lantern strategy from that seat.

 

He graduated in 1990 from the University of Denver with a B.S.B.A in Finance. Mike has held the Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”)1 designation since 1996.

 

After living in the Boston, MA area for nearly 30 years and following his retirement from Eaton Vance, Mike and his wife relocated to Saratoga Springs, NY to be near their two adult children.
